I did my annual double-wax job on my Passat as my first VW show is just days away. First coat was with Zymol, which I've used for years. Second coat was with Mother's. The car is Urban gray, basically a dark silver color, and here's some advice: black wax doesn't hide deep scratches at all, and in fact makes them stand out even more. Fortunately, I just used a tiny bit of that stuff as an experiment, as every daily driver is bound to have a few war bruises. I think my 11-year-old B5.5 looks pretty good from even 2 feet away, but once you get closer, the flaws can be seen if you look for them, but I've decided to stop being so anal about it, Anyway, the problem is that once my double application was removed, I have a layer of dust everywhere that even 2-3 days of rain won't get rid of. I'll run it through a good car wash and use spray detailer once I get to the show, but are there any waxes out there that don't leave this dust in the first place?
