Roadies here ... haven't been on my bike for a looong time. But the bike has been cleaned and lubed, and starting this weekend I'll go for a short ride to get my butt in shape.

I commute every day on a Steve Rex town bike - hand built steel frame with a Shimano Nexus 7 internal geared hub. Sweet ride! Also looking for a road bike, but when you're 6' 5" like me, it's tough to find one that fits. Trying to find a nice old Austro-Daimler, or something Italian (Ciocc, Masi, Bianchi, etc.)

5200 is a sweeeeeet bike.

6'5 could present a bit of a problem  I went to the bike shop today and they told me they struggle with any one over 6' (like me) because they have to order from the company the frame, ....i guess im a giant when it comes time for the bike world

I used to be an avid rider until I joined a start up company several years ago. The long & crazy hours were simply mad :( ... but I am no longer with that company so my time is a little more flexible now.

I used to look forward to do the MS150 from Houston to Austin every year. It's a little too late for me to jump & start and be trained adequately for this year MS150 by April. Definitely next year !!

Mountain biker here. I ride an older Santa Cruz Heckler. I bought it used from someone in Portland and brought it back to its hometown. We have a lot of good trails around here. I ride a couple times a week before I go in to work and I try to get some longer rides in on the weekend.

There are a lot of road riders who come through the mountains here, but they are out for a suicide ride. Visibility is poor and the bike lane is almost nonexistent. I stick to the forest. The trees are a lot more forgiving than Suburbans.

I ride road and mountain bike. I have an old Paramount mountain bike, 2 fixed gear bikes, and 3 road bikes (road biking is my first love). One of the road bikes is a Klein Quantem (aluminum) about 1998 vintage with DA 8 speed components. It was reciently overhauled and everything is in great shape. It is a 58 cm size. If you are interested, I would let it go cheap. I am located in NJ.

Regards, Ray

some of both, though less than I used to. I have a Mongoose Cross bike. nearly as fast as most road bikes, but can go off road if it's not too rough. I used to commute to work by bike in Seattle, taking the Burke-Gilman trail to UW. I uzsed to get hit by cars pretty regularly.

Here in California, I'm not willing to share the road with the CA drivers, and there is no Mt biking that's not too rough. So I need a real Mt bike too!

I have a Norco Java with xt components circa 1995. It is currently fitted with slicks and used on the road. haven't ridden for a while but if winter ever leaves I'm planning on getting back to it. My fondest memories on the bike are from a ride I did from Winnipeg (Canada just above North Dakota) to Atlanta in 96 just after the Olympics. Currently storing a road bike for a friend while he is out of the country, I am looking forward to giveing it some miles as it's history is that it was a 7-11 team issue bike should be a sweet ride.

I have a Cilo road bike that I brought back from Switzerland when I lived there, a mtn bike that I commuted on while attending the University of Washington (Unlike Jimbob, I was never hit by a car, although one time there was an old lady driving her Accord down the trail - woops) and to top everything off:

My wife and I have a Burly Duet tandem & child trailer.

My riding habits are like this:
Before marriage - ride lots
After marriage - ride lots
After marriage, start school - ride often
In school after a while - ride
After first child is born - ride occasionally
After second child is born - commute to school
After graduation - commute occasionally in the summer
After third child is born - Man these things take up a lot of room.

To look at me, you would think that I have never seen a bike before. Well with the move to Arizona, kids a little older, I hope to chage all that :D
