my 02 B5.5 went in for regular 40k service at Boston VW on a Friday. Service rep gives me a call telling me that my front outer cv boots need to be replaced, it was late so i scheduled an apointment on the following wednesday and took my car home. I parked the car friday night and it did not move until monday morning when I start up the car and the airbag fault warning comes on.
that wednesday when the car went in for the boots, they said that the side airbag crash sensor was bad and needed to be replaced... i wanted them to take responsibility for the sensor and replace it free of charge but they quoted 150 in parts and 300 in labor. upset, i asked to speak to the manager.
when i spoke to the manager he told me that there was no way they could have affected the sensor during the service work and refused to take responsibility. i insisted but all i could get form him was the fault code and part number for the sensor, both of which mean nothing to me...maybe someone here can enlighten me on how my car can be fine on friday before service and then have the airbag fault come on right after...
i needed to vent...is there anything i can do?
