air bag light is on...

I can tell you this! My neighbors came on and he has a 2001 and the car has been at the dealer for a whole month They cant seem too fix and they tried to tell him it is nothing to worry about at first :crazy:
If the light is on the airbag will not deploy. Now it is lawyer time!!
I think a month is long enough to get it fixed

I had a problem with a loose connection under the drivers seat in my 2000 causing my airbag light to come on.

I had an issue where there was an intermittent signal error for the passenger's seat airbag. I took the seat out, sprayed the harness (under the seat) with contact cleaner and put it back together. A year has passed and no problems.

I had the light on too, got it cleared the last time I was in for service. They told me it was just warning/fault codes, nothing to worry about. They reset it and all is good!

My 2001.5 has been in three times over the last year because of the airbag light coming on. First the dealer said it was an error code, then they replaced the driver's side airbag unit and the third time they replaced the steering wheel faulting two springs that are at the bottom face of the wheel where the airbag assembly contacts. Now the leather on the wheel doesn't match the rest of the car but the light hasn't come back on.

Find someone with VAG-Com either on clubb5 or Audiworld. There are a lot of people that would hook you up. If not, find a local VAG tuner/repair shop and you can probably get them to do it for free.
