A while back, I replaced the corroding front rotors on my 158k V6. The biggest difference I've noticed is that braking under wet conditions is improved since I don't feel that floating feeling as the rotors dry when brakes are first applied. I can't say it stops quicker but when the brakes are damp or under moderate-to-heavy braking, a pretty cool whirring sound is heard. Supposedly, the pads are supposed to last a bit longer but time will tell. Don't know if the response is the same for drilled rotors.

At the same time, I added the Akebono Euro ceramic pads. Overall I'm very pleased with the setup but have never come across a directional brake pad. I needed to review the limited directions a few times before installing to be sure they didn't go on backwards.
