McCulloch has the most complete line of new car bulbs in the market and has a patent to manufacture the lastest D1 series bulbs with igniters built into the base.
Here is a 2007 Audi A4 Avant that has D1 series factory installed Xenons and we are testing the D1C replacement bulbs for color and fittament.

How good these lights are in quality as compared to the numerous brands out in the market??
McCulloch is not a fly by night or a no name brand. They have been in business for a long time to differentiate them from the others is that they have the E13 certification from the Ministry of Transport from France for their ballasts. This standard is only available to those manufacturers that meet the stringent quality controls, protocols etc... in order to receive it.
If the HID company you are thinking of buying does not have this E certification, then chances are they are not the highest standards.
Please compare apples to apples and not oranges to apples. They may be cheaper but there is always a reason.

this is all the parts you get in your drop in HID conversion kit

When McCulloch states 100% waterproof the entire kit can be submerged under water. Tested underwater for 6 hours.
Although McCulloch HID kit can operate underwater. The HID kits are intended for automotive use only and not for underwater usage.

A quick description on the color temperatures.

3000K - SUPER YELLOW
3000K has an approximately 3200lm output, which is more than 3x the light output of the traditional halogen light. 3000K emits GOLDEN YELLOW color and offers superior penetration power during adverse weather epically in dense fog. The applications of the 3000K kit aim more towards secondary lighting apparatus such as high beam and fog lights. The 3000K capsule is actually a 5000K capsule specially coated with a film that filters out all the wave length except the range of wave length which emits yellow. This is the color temperature that will catch all the attention on the road.

4300K - OEM SPECS :
4300K has an approximately 3200lm output, which is more than 3x the light output of the traditional halogen light and is the color temperature with the most output. The light appears fairly white, and has light yellowish hue when reflected off the road identical to the OEM HID equipped vehicles. This color is for customers who is looking for pure performance white improving the looks of their headlight. It is idea for customers who does a lot of back road or canyon driving and need the optimal visibility.

5000K - BRIGHT WHITE :
5000K has an approximately 3200lm output, which is more than 3x the light output of the traditional halogen light and is the color temperature with the most output. The light appears fairly white, and has light yellowish hue when reflected off the road identical to the OEM HID equipped vehicles. This color is for people who are looking for pure performance white improving the looks of their headlight. It is idea for those who do a lot of back road or canyon driving and need the optimal visibility. This is the color temperature that gives you the most light for your bucks.

6000K - CRYSTAL WHITE:
6000K has an approximately 2800lm output, which is 3x the light output of the traditional halogen light and slightly less light output compared to the 5000K. Although it has a bit lesser light output, it emits pure whiter light with very slight and barely noticeable tint of blue and purple.

8000K - ELECTRIC BLUE :
8000K has an approximately 2550lm output, which is about 3x the light output of the traditional halogen light and slightly less light output compared to the 6000K. While it has a bit lesser light output, it emits bluer light than the 6000K.

Please note: most people have a common misconception that the higher the K (Kelvin temperature) the brighter it gets, but in fact, it is the opposite. The K rating is inversely proportional to the light output, therefore the lower the K the brighter the light output.

NOTE Xenon runs cooler and than your traditional halogen, therefore it will not melt your housing. So people that tell you otherwise or give horror stories that your housing will melt do not know what they are talking about.

Hope this clarifies any questions you may have. If you still have questions feel free to send me a PM.

FAQ

(1) What does our HID CONVERSION KIT include?

Our McCulloch HID Conversion Kits include all necessary materials needed for installation. The Kit will include (2) Direct-Plug HID Bulbs (for perfect installation), (2) Ballasts, (2) Igniters, along with all necessary wiring. McCulloch HID Conversion Kits are plug and play, which is perfect for clean and accurate installation.

(2) Wouldn't it be better for me to purchase a halogen bulb with higher voltage, instead of buying HID Bulbs?

McCulloch HID lamps are 35 watts, while standard halogen Bulbs are 55 watts. Although, HID lamps work with less watts, they still produce 3x more light. The halogen lamp with an increase in wattage will make the light brighter, but will still be dimmer than the HID lamps.

(3) Why do I have to purchase the whole kit? Why can't I just order the HID Bulbs?

Cars use a 12 Volt Electrical System for their headlights. HID systems use over 20,000 volts to ignite our Bulbs. For this process to work, with out kits we include ballasts, which allow the HID Bulbs to run without a problem. These ballasts are taking in all the necessary energy to keep the HID Bulbs running longer than your automobile.

(4) What separates genuine Xenon gas-filled Bulbs from Xenon HID?

HID (High Intensity Discharge) is the technology in which the filament of the Halogen Bulb is replaced with Xenon gas. When high voltage is applied, the gas generates an arc of light. The Xenon gas generates 3x more light than standard halogen Bulbs. Most companies do produce gas-filled halogen Bulbs. These Bulbs do consist of a filament, but the gas gives off a bluer color. The negative part of xenon-filled halogen Bulbs, is they produce very little or no more then standard halogen Bulbs with the same voltage.

(5) Are these HID light systems street legal?

NO XENON HID conversion kit available from any source is DOT approved if installed outside of the factory. Moreover, in the U.S, this is not street legal for use on public roads. As a result, we officially endorse the kit for exhibition and off-road use and will only sell the kit to be used for these purposes. We are not responsible for buyers who violate the terms of sale while in which they will assume all responsibilities for any unauthorized or unintended use other than exhibition or off-road use.

(6) Will I be able to perform the installation myself?

McCulloch Hid Kits are plug and play, which gives you the opportunity to do the installation yourself. If you follow the instructions given to you on our installation page, you will be able to get it done within 30 minutes. Although, easy to install, we are not responsible for any mishaps in the process.

(7) Will I be able to re-install my standard halogen lights at anytime?

We understand that people sell their cars, so its known that taking out your HID Kit is important. With our kits you will be able to uninstall your kit and replace will standard halogen or any lights of your preference. The process is exactly like the installation, but instead backwards. The HID Kit that is taken out, can be used in another automobile with the same bulb size.

(8) How long will your Bulbs last?

Our Bulbs are designed to out-last your car. When tested, an average of 2500 hours was given as the life of our Bulbs. McCulloch uses the finest materials available to produce our HID Bulbs.

first thing was to prepare the HID bulb installation for the low beams and fog lights. She wanted the high beams to be HID as well but I convinced her it was OVERKILL and you don;t need it.

I must have scrolled down too fast and missed the $250 price and was mistaken on the bulb prices as the kit price.

So my question on the fitting of the projectors.........yeah or nay?

If i still dont have the right price please list the cost for a kit for my Hella projectors on my B5 they would be for a H1 buld type (if they can be used with this kit).

Thanks
the current price will be 260.00 adjusted to today's exchange rate and add 10.00 more if you need tracking and insurance.

yes what color H1 bulb do you need?

thanks:)
