I cant post in the groupbuy section so forgive me moderators,

Can someone put together another group buy for the SPEEDTUNING ECU's? Me and another buddy of mine are both interested but can't post in Group Buy section

Tax season so hopefully a few interested parties can pull together some extra cash?

We have some interest, so lets make a list of interested parties and the cars involved. This is not set in stone yet. At this point It's just a feeler for interest. Do you have a link to a previous SpeedTuning group buy? What was the deal last time? (price? number of buyers to get discount?)

I don't know much about SpeedTuning. A quick Google search returns mixed reviews.

I've had the SpeedTuning "tune" on my V6 for several years now, and I'm still really happy with the results. My lengthy review is somewhere here on the site, and I haven't hit any snags that make me any less happy than I was during those 1st few days. Can't speak to how well it does on the 1.8T however...

SrRamirez doesn't have the time-in or post count to officially lead this charge. That doesn't mean he can't assist a more seasoned member in organizing this. Does anyone feel like volunteering some time and effort to this cause? The position requires some organizing and negotiating. You'd have one helper already on-board. If no one steps up, I can give it a go if you'all like.

You can't compare how a turbo engine tune stacks up against a naturally aspirated engine tune. With a turbo engine, raising boost returns substantial power gains. With a NA engine, the tuner doesn't have that option so gains are more modest.

I know Reflect Tuning has worked with the 1.8t, the 2.8 V6 and also the W8. Maybe see if he's interested in offering a group deal?

Be aware, shipping an ECU somewhere to get a tune loaded onto it will sideline your car till the work is finished and the ECU returns. For those of you who DD your cars, this could be a big problem. Finding a spare ECU to load the tune onto would be one way around that problem. That would also afford you the ability to put the car back to stock if you ever wanted. If you someday sell the car, you could swap the stock ECU back in and put the tuned ECU in the classifieds.

For those of you who DD something else in the winter, this is the right time of the year to make something like this happen. If your car is sitting anyways, get the ECM sent out now so you'll be set when the summer returns.

Last time we had a GB here I was part of it and I love it till this day :thumbup: If I remember correctly it was $150 with shipping both ways with 10 or 20 participants... Sorry I am getting old and can't remember but I have searched and got nowhere as the new owners of the site must have deleted the old threads...

Anyone know how this tune works with the 1.8t? Does anyone currently have this tune for their 1.8t? I'm interested for sure, but some additional research is needed and it depends on when it goes down.

Mine is 1.8t and I have it for 6-7 years now with no complaints... I don't daily my car but every time I drive it I love it!

If you have a car/engine other then what's listed, contact Speed Tuning to see if they have a tune for your application. If they do and you want in, post up so you'll be included in the list.

SrRamirez confirmed with Oliver from Speed Tuning that 10 buyers is enough for a group discount. SrRamirez still has to confirm the discount pricing. Last time the discount was 50% off.
