So have had a P0106 code for awhile and finally got around to replacing the barometric pressure sensor today. Not so hard to do. Removed the air filter assembly, then the air intake hose, and then the throttle body. A few electrical disconnects along the way and I had access to the pressure sensor and got to clean the throttle body as well. I thought it was strange that the air intake leading to the air filter assembly has this nice easy access door that seems to serve little purpose, or am I missing something here. My old B5 had a little screen that acted as a pre filter to the actual air filter. what exactly is the purpose of this access door? Doesn't seem to really serve much of a purpose.
