'99 Passat 1.8 AEB

Happened last week. Saturday morning I realized the A/C and turn signals were not working. The hazards still work. Monday I took out relays 384 and 214, and the hazard relay. Sprayed the relays with electrical connection cleaner. Opened the hazard relay and sprayed it as well. Put the relays back in on Tuesday morning. Everything worked again all day. Wednesday morning they don't work again. Tried spraying the relays again but it didn't work this time. Wednesday night I notice the headlights are not working. Friday the windshield wipers are not working. Last night I replaced the ground battery cable because the terminal was cracked. All the fuses that I checked still looked good.

Thanks

Ignition switch. Cheap and pretty easy to change out.

It took me like 30 minutes, and I did not pull the steering wheel (99 GLS). You turn the wheel 90* one way then the other to access the screws in the shroud.

Towed the car to the VW dealer. They started listing all the things wrong but nothing pertaining to getting the car running again or fixing the things that weren't working. Said that it would cost more to get it running than it's worth.
