Hi,

Going tomorrow for my 60K on my 1.8T...noticed my manual says timing belt check at 40K, 60K, and 80K which i thought was strange....most people don't mention the 60K check.....

I want to do most of it myself....what's the bare minimum I should have the dealer do for warranty reasons? I'm thinking timing belt check, differential check....

Anything I'm missing?

You're thinking on the right track.

All they're going to do is pull the cover back and make sure the belt is still there. If the water pump isn't leaking and the belt isn't frayed, that's it.

I'd call them up and ask the service writer what you have to do. Once you get a repair order on whatever he pulls out of his ass as "required", they have to stick to it.
