Hi all im wanting the location of the
Ecu power supply relay and code if possible?
Had the RAC out yesterday to my wifes beloved passat. And he said this needs changing. It cranked but wouldnt start. He turned up and fired up straight away although i know its not going to hold out.
Is a 53 plate a b5.5 also???
Many thanks in advance also.

Not all the B5/5.5 Passats have an ECM power relay, but most do.
If there is one, the relay will be in the ECM box, under the left windshield (windscreen?) wiper. For LHD cars, you have to park the wipers up and remove a plug in the fascia to access the fifth screw that holds the ECM box closed.

Inside the ECM box, there is the SAIP relay, production code 373 (stamped in large numbers). The ECM power supply relay is probably the only other one in there. The production code on that relay may vary with the year and engine in your car. The part number will be molded in to the case, but it's a common, normally open, automotive relay, nothing special.

Presuming you have an SAIP (secondary air injection pump) relay, I'd recommend you change it, too. It was definitely undersized, so the contacts will be very pitted.
