As promised yesterday, I began the task of buttoning up the engine. Enjoy the progressive pictures:

All rockers have been adjusted and locked down ( hyd. roller are adjusted 3/4 turn after play is taken out of the pushrod ).

Intake manifold: all water passages silicone'd on both sides before it went into place. All bolts progressively torqued to 17, then 25 ft.-lbs.

Valve Covers on. Will need to remove later for verifying oil flow during initial oil pump priming.

Holley Street Avenger 670cfm bolted in.

OOOHHHH..... shiny!

MSD alum. billet distributor with STEEL gear; break-in lube applied to gear and a little on the O-ring; I believe I have the rotor pointed in the correct position, however, this will come out for the oil pump priming later on.

Took me 2-3 hours to complete it to this point. :)

Firing up the engine may take awhile. At the end of this month, nothing more will be done with the engine. Spark plugs will go in and perhaps the water pump, thermostat and thermostat housing and that'll be all for this year!!!

I need to start saving up for the holiday (read: property taxes and Xmas presents). I'll probably start getting back on the project in Jan.

HH - if you have a couple bags of dessicant, bake them dry and put them in the air cleaner, then wrap it up w/glad wrap or the like. This will keep any moisture from forming any type of surface rust. If you need some, let me know.

Add MSD wiring, and coil and we got:

I found I don't have a gapping tool that's large enough for the recommend plug. I should have .045"-.054" gap and my "old" gapping tool maxes out at .040"!!!

For this photo, I simply finger-tightened them in to hold the wires up. I also shortened the coil wire by 1/2 as it was used in the 91' Mustang where the coil is attached onto the fender well. (measured impedence before final installation.)

Will be ordering the oil pump, thermostat and housing this Friday. :)
