I have a 2017 Passat SEL Premium TSI (US version) which has the factory LED headlights. For some reason VW decided, however, to use regular non-LED bulbs for the factory fog lights. Does anyone know:

1) what is the bulb size/model number (H8, 9006, etc)?
2) if there is a "direct replacement" LED bulb that doesn't require modifications, and can recommend a good brand of bulb to use?
3) how to access the rear of the fog lights to change the bulb?

Thanks

Check out the B7 forum on VWVortex, they have had several discussions on lighting.

If I recall the bulbs are H-8 .
To access them you turn the front of your tire inward on the side you want to work on. Then remove some of the screws holding the plastic fender liner. You should be able to move the liner out of the way to access the bulbs.

I just put in H8 xenons in (4k) I recall. Closely matches the LED's. I programed (OBeleven) my DRL's to only turn on with the Euro switch. So I can run DRL LED's plus the fogs as weather dictates. Works well.
