Hey there,

Was on the way to the lake this afternoon, at a 45 mph exit ramp, engine lite started blinking. Then getting up to speed there seemed to be a shimmy. Engine lite stopped blinking but was steady on. Shimmy continues, as if it were the pavement. Not so. I noticed when I let off the gas it rides smooth, then giving it gas the shimmy is back. Its carb or cylinder related b/c power is being affected. In park its idling rougher than normal

Any one have any thoughts? I sure would appreciate it.. Thanks :wrench:

2006 2.0T Codes

I did a little more troubleshooting on this issue today including reading some other posts with similar issues, but I also was able to obtain some diagnostic codes.

Here is what I got:

P02187 Too lean Crankcase breather
P0299 Turbo Booster sensor
P0300 Random Multiple misfire, all cylinders
P0303 Random Misfire Cylinder 3

Can anyone offer any thoughts ?

Seems to be leading to the coils and perhaps the spark plugs

I'd sure appreciate any guidance you guys might have!

Thanks in advance

I'm experiencing almost exact same problems
My idle is rough - it helps when the a/c is on due to the load, or giving some gas (1000rpm) clears it up.
The shimmy I experience is in 3rd gear however, around 3800rpm(35-40mph) and like you say its only when I give it gas, coasting shows no shimmy.
The shake was bad enough that the first time I felt it I though my wheel bearings were failing......

I'm going to go through over hauling the Crank Case vent valves and hoses as I suspect thats the fault. Might be worth it for you too depending on if it's been done.
