Parting out a 2000 Passat GLS (Engine code: ATW) and I'd like to offer shipping for the engine but have no idea roughly how much they weigh. I figure someone on here has either shipped one or had one shipped to where they might still have the info.

You're going to have to freight it, normally shipping services won't apply to a full size engine.

My guess would be fully assembled, around 200-250lbs.
