Looking for some guided help and or solution(s).
I am wanting the original key fob for 1998 GLS sedan. Shown below.
Can I assume the square/rectangle ones will not work because of differences in transmitter frequencies?
Are these older ones programmable with VCDS like the newer B5.5 ones?

I have never even seen one of those and I have seen a couple of 98's over the years.

Going back a few years here, my 1998 GLS, was purchased by my then sister-in-law when the car was 6 months old, that is the FOB that came with car when the dealer turned over the keys.
I had that FOB for the car all this time but it's packed away in some box back WI that I don't have access to until I go back there.
Anyways, I am 100% certain that is the FOB for my car.
