And yet the car is still misfiring!

This car loves to misfire. I've traced all of the air intake lines, no leaks, looked at all of the vacuum lines, no leaks that I can see, spark plugs are new at 100k miles, MAF is fine, and the only error codes that I get are "multiple misfires detected, cylinders X, Y, Z." Moved fuel injectors around and still no change.

So today I called Pat Goss (for the non-locals, he runs a call-in radio show for car maintenance as well as appearing on Motorweek), and told him of my woes. He knows his stuff, if a bit rough around the edges at times. He suggest that I check cylinder compression. This got me worried. Piston rings? Valve seats? Oh no!

Luckily though, after 103,000 miles, my cylinder pressures are:
1. 190 psi
2. 190 psi
3. 180 psi
4. 185 psi

Those are well within the 45 psi range, and at the very top of the pressure ranges! That makes me happy, BUT I still don't know what is causing the misfires............To be continued

Assume you have a 1.8T, coilpack did you check them. What year, need more info. Could be a coilpack, Icm(dependent on year).
