I went to the VW dealership last week and they couldn't figure out which part it was. The connector that snaps onto the oil pressure sender is the part I need. I assuem this connector comes with the wire too.
Can someone help identify this part so I can get a new one ordered? The car is a 1.8T...
The one for the temp gauge on a '03 2.8 V6. The gauge was erratic , then stopped moving all together. Operating temp remains normal. Also the correct part name, since I asked for a temp sensor, and this one is located lower rad hose area. Didn't fix guage.
I got a few gauges used of the vortex. The pressure gauge is a new south electric and has a single orange sender wire. New south sells senders with plastic connectors for multiple wires but that'a not what I need. I've read about two post senders by vdo. Will that work as long as I get the...
I am trying to check my valve chain timing to see if it is correct. I have just replaced and sealed my valve cover and it is sealed good. Really don't want to take it off again as this was done 2 months ago. I was looking at the hall sender rotor which is bolted onto the end of the...
Can anyone send a picture of how the fuel gauge sender connectors are attached to the fuel pump lid? There appear to be 2 connectors. One for the fuel gauge sender and one for something else. The connectors are different colors but I forgot to note how they were configured when I was replacing...
So I pulled the trigger on a 42DD relocation kit and some podi gauges (oil temp/pressure). I recently read that installing an oil temp sender to the 42DD relocation kit will give a bad reading, and should instead be installed directly in a oil flow path.
Can anyone confirm this? If so, where's...
I've got an '02 Passat Sedan V6 with 4motion... I've been told it has 3 fuel level senders since it has that funky fuel tank straddling the driveshaft.
Fuel gauge isn't working properly and the first thing I want to do is check resistance on each of the fuel level senders, but I'm not sure...
For those of you with v6 engines that have installed oil pressure gauges, where did you install the sender? In my old cars there were places on the head and also on the oil filter flange that I could use. On my current ATQ I'm not so sure.
I need some input here, i am so tired of this F***** oil temp sender, I just mounted 3 gauges, oil temp, pressure and boost gauge using a 42 dd relocation kit. But it seems like i am unable to get any readings on my oil temp gauge, and I think it is because it is not getting high...
My flashing oil light came on after 10 minutes test driving my car after I replaced the turbo. It's a 99 AEB. I called an Indy shop and they said $158 to do an oil pressure test. The dealer said $95 which surprised me. I don't really have the money to get it checked, so I'm going to replace...
My sister wants to sell her 2001 1.8t as soon as possible. Of course, she wants to spend very little on fixing stuff before selling it. She has the tensioner noise at first start up that goes away pretty quickly. She doesn't want to drop the pan/clean the pickup screen or try and replace the...
2002 Passat 2.8L 4Motion Tiptronic
DIY Engine Speed Sender
Dealer Price $120
15-20" of extension
History: The car had been hesitant during start up for several months, requiring a lot more cranks on the engine than...
Can anyone tell me where the oil pressure sender is located on this engine?
Also, where I can buy one? The ECS Tuning website shows 2 different styles depending on VIN #. The VIN ends in 291073.
I think it is this one, Volkswagen Passat B5 FWD 1.8T > Engine > Electrical > Senders - Sensors >...
I have a dilemma:
I've replaced the fuel pump and was about to wire up the fuel-sender (large white cap) when I noticed that there are two lots of identical terminals on the underside.
I thought I was being really anally-retentive by taking photos of EVAH-REEE-THANG before / during / after...
I can't get to the blank port, as it is on top of the oil cooler and I can't get any sockets in there.
I have the 42D relocation kit.
I can disconnect the sender wire, but can't figure out how to unscrew it out of there to screw the 42D kit in.
Anyone done this before?
Hey everybody, have searched numerous times and can't find the answer.
Car: 02 Passat 1.8t AWM
Problem: Is there enough clearance for a T adaptor on the second unused port or do I need the relocation kit to install?
* Not using using oil drain plug port BTW
