Just got the car about a week or so ago, and it's got 120K miles. The previous owner apparently never worked on the car himself and he had a lot of recent repair paper work. water pump, timing chain, axels, all that. That's all well and good but I see green antifreeze in there too... yea :( .So...

My wife just got a new '14 TDI SEL this past November. To help keep it new looking I've begun a process of applying "Paint Protective Film". I'm using products sold by "invisiblemask.com. They offer many applications for the Passat. so far I have installed the Front bumper & Grille Films...

Hey guys, I'm 16 years old and a few months ago I bought a 1999 B5 passat with 160,000 miles on it, for $2200. Since my parents weren't willing to help me out, I had to pay for everything, which took a lot of saving. The only problem now is that I'm left with no money, to mod the car or even...

A few days ago I bought a new air filter and replaced the old one. when I wanted to throw away the old filter I thought why not cleaning it and reusing it. I soaked it in warm water with detergent for like 15 minutes and washed off all the dirt. Then I just let it dry and it looks like a brand...

Needed AC belt tensioner, not one in town, I can have the part overnight w/Sat delivery for the same money as the stealer can get it in sometime next week. I thought about tossing one in on the original order, but cheaped out. Got the nose off the car, water pump and TB tension roller off...

I'm thinking retracting fender skirts for the rear wheelwells as soon as you shift to 4th or 5th gear, car automatically lowering considerably above a certain speed, good looking ultra lightweight alloywheels that turn into moondisc type wheels above a certain speed similarly to autoclosing...

The 2 most important sweet spots for the B5.5 1.8T Tip are 21-24 MPH in 4th gear, and 38-42 MPH in 5th gear. I was able to achieve 29.9 MPG on an 8.6 mile all city trip tonight from my house to the secondary suburban campus of my college by having all the windows up, coasting to yellow/red...

I think that the neutral gear is the most underused gear of all. It's very useful for saving gas. People would be shocked at just how long you can coast with a mindboggling 0.27 drag coefficient in neutral on a flat plain even at 30MPH till the car stops. Neutral is very useful when you're...

I try to accelerate slow and try to keep the tach below 2500(below 2250 most of the time) to save gas. I try to only take the RPM above 2250 on the highway or when I'm late. Anyway, does a gas saving driving style cause carbon buildup, because that's what my lady friend always says.

So I keep seeing these articles in the paper and online about how to save money at the pump. Invariably, mention is made about not using premium octane fuel. I've never seen one of these articles say that using regular octane in a car designed for premium would result in a lowering of fuel...

With the help of the Clubb5.com forum I probably saved at least $400.00! Within 2 hours of driving following the installation of my new K&N filter my CEL (check engine light) came on along with the "EMISSIONS WORKSHOP" message in my dash. My local shop was cool enough to plug in their...
