2002 GLX Wagon - Rear seat arm rest will not fold down in to the open position. Arm rest moves about 30-degrees and then gets stuck and will not fold down into the open position. Is there a trick, or hidden release button that needs to be pushed?
The B8 Passat has been on sale since 2015 and is based on a stretched MQB platform. This version of the Passat was not sold in North America. North American Passat owners should be posting in the B7 section for now and when that Passat gets redone we will make a section for that one.
I am starting to fix the little things around the 2002 Passat Wagon FWD V6 I picked up... one of them is the centre arm rest. I have looked on this site and there seems to be a lot of DIY surrounding the arm rest that has its own little cubby inside the rest itself.
The window rest has got damaged on my car, I'm not sure if its just form my elbow! I am going to glue it to stop it cracking but I also want to remove the dent (see attached picture). Should I stuff behind with something before gluing? All advice appreciated!

I saw the video below for a Jetta Mk4 armrest lid, but when I was trying to take apart for my passat I noticed that the top won't budge at all.
Then I noticed the rubber gourmets on top and was wondering if there are any screws underneath these gourmets that need to be taken out?
I recently got a 2001 Volkswagen Passat GLX and the armrest is broken. I was wondering is there a way to replace this arm rest? If possible is there a way to replace it with the new styled armrests that appear on the 2003 Passat (My Friend has one).
