I need to send my ABS module out for a rebuild. The "Cheap ABS, Inc." person (who many here have recommended) isn't accepting business right now. Does anyone know of a good place I can send mine to?

I'm rebuilding a Koyo steering rack in my 2000 passat. There is a spring cap that holds the rack guide in place that has a small rubber plug in the center of it. While I was taking everything apart this plug was destroyed. Does anyone know what is the purpose of this plug? Here is a document...

02 Passat with the 1.8t. Picked it up as a project car, daughters first car we're working on together. Previous owner did the timing belt but something went wrong and valves hit pistons. I've pulled the head with the intent of rebuilding it. This won't be a performance build, going for daily...

I have '00 V6 Passat with a stick which was hit by side around bumper area. Because of a bumper move (not bumper cover), two longitude members we significantly bent. The car has 137K miles and well running engine. New ABS, suspension, "struts" , brakes etc. Just for the sake of technical...

Yessss! I know, don't flame me just yet, I know they're Chinese P.O.S. My cousin bought a K04 for his car (a Godspeed) but wrecked the car before he managed to put it on, so now it's just sitting around. He offered it to me for free and all needed is the gaskets. However, seeing that some have...

Since I just got done replacing my axles, I don't need these anymore. They *can* be rebuilt but I don't think the bearings are any good anymore. They got a lot of dirt in them. They're probably good for core returns. Not sure if these are original or not. No labels. I'd be happy to ship them to...

Well, I am going ahead with my 99 Passat. Picked up a used motor from the junkyard for $200, and plan on going through it before I put it in. Problem is, the motor has about 150k miles on it. I planned to replace the timing belt and tensioner, timing chain and tensioner, and most all gaskets...

I had this idea that's not exactly viable enough for me to keep secret and try to actually implement, so I wanted to get some thoughts on it. Kinda tl;dr, apologize about that: As we all know, new cars are pretty over-priced - or at the very least, they are a huge expenditure to most people...

Ok, background, car was ran with low oil pressure, found alot of bronze colored flecks in the oil pan, screen was clogged. When I say fleck I'm talking like glitter. Really small almost like a paste, but I'm guessing its toast or close to it. I didn't get the chance to finish the oil pump...

So I was talking to the guys at Majestic Turbo and they mentioned a really really good resource for people with BB GT series turbos that have suffered turbine wheel damage. I guess they have a shop that can actually weld material to, and re-machine a turbine wheel with FOD. I guess it takes a...

So a few months ago, I ended up totaling my 2000 Passat wagon with the help of a deer. I ended up buying it back from the insurance company with the intention of rebuilding it. I've been lazy and in the hospital for the past few months, so I haven't been able to do any work on it. Now since the...

So, you have one noob, a good, detailed manual, an engine hoist, non-power tools, 4 whole days, and a non-VTEC integra engine (1.8L B18B). The rebuild kit includes something like: * Full Overhaul Gasket Set with Multi Layer Steel Head Gasket * Pistons and Hastings Chrome Piston Ring Set...

I had this second K04 laying around for some time and decided to take a closer look at the internals as it died on leaking oil possibly due to sludge. Turbine and wastegate removed, I marked the exhaust housing and wastegateshaft The BorgWarner plate Compressor Turbine full of sludged oil...

I've recently bought a 2nd K04 turbo which has too much shaft play. The turbo housing, compressor, turbine and wastegate seem OK. I've done some searching and what I need is a BorgWarner K03/K04 repair kit partnumber 5303 711 0000. I would like to do the repair myself but is this a DIY and...
