Anyone know if the steering rack from an S4 would fit a V6 4motion b5.5? My mate's S3 has high ratio steering rack ie takes far less turns lock to lock than a stock A3. Amazing to drive. I'm sure the S4 must be the same. cheers.

How do you guys read an a/f ratio guage or wideband? I'm not very familar with this, and i'm not sure exactly what to look for, and when. All that I know, is that the higher the number, the more lean the a/f ratio is. If the motor runs too lean, it may cause detonation and damage the engine...

I have access to a VAG-com and was wondering how to check Air/fuel ration on my 98 AEB. I'm starting to get into a world of tuning I never thought I would venture into. TIA

I noticed the compression ratio for a 4motion 1.8T is a bit lower than a FWD 1.8T, yet HP is the same. Anyone know why?

I think if there's a correlation, it's the higher the ratio, the more impulsive you are. If you have a lower ratio, you like to spend lots of time reading and asking questions (researching) before investing your $$$ into a mod. Calculating the ratio of "USD invested in mods" to "# of posts"...

Hi, New to this board, but have a reasonably technical question: Has anyone modified their final drive ratio on their Passat (wagon)? If so, what route did you take and what were the costs? I can source parts from Germany through relatives, and have rebuilt a tractor gearbox, but have little...

I think mine is on the fritz. I have a stewart warner A/F meter and it reads in the stoich area like it should. When I turn on the back light the lights come on from just before stoich all the way to the max for lean. I called stewart warner and the told me to take it back to where I got it...

i did a search on this and got a partial answer to my question from a previous thread. qualitysound wrote that the snr did not matter that much in a car because the number e.g. 85 dB, represented the difference between the signal floor and the background noise, and the road noise would be around...

Well, I finally did it. I correlated my VAG O2 voltage with A/F ratios from a dyno run. I omitted data below .745 volts, because from .5 volts to .745, the A/F ratio was a pretty constant 16.x:1, and it really screwed up trying to make an equation. I used the rear instead of the front...

Ok some of my racing buddies are driving Mustangs and for them to get the A/F ratio they have had to drill a hole in the exhaust closest to the engine then weld in a "bung" that accepts his wide band O2 sensor. I don;t really want someone bunging a hole into my exhaust downpipe to get this...

Hey guys, can ours be changed? I figured since I will have my timingbelt and valves getting replaced, I might as well see if that is possible. Thanks
