Not Passat specific, but thought this is the best place to get help. I've used my car ramps maybe 10 times. I'm always careful to perfectly line them up, and wedge them under the tires before driving up. Admittedly, it causes a brief moment of anxiety when driving up. I always chalk the rear...

Looking for suggestions on service ramps to work on car(s). I'm weary about going with a Harbor Freight set, due to the reputation they hold and horror stories I've heard about them blowing out. What are some ramp stands you guys/girls have use or are still using that you would recommend...

I was just wondering if it's such a bad idea to do the trans mounts on a V B5.5 with just ramps and a jack (to lift the trans)? I have 4 jackstands, but I've had a car fall on me in the past (I had a 14" log under the frame and it saved me). I know that some here have the tip....but with the...

I removed my temporary 18's and decided I was going to go full 4 x 4 by getting some staggered 19's. Since I put them on, when I exit the highway on an off ramp, or enter via an on ramp the light flashes and the car looses power. I have started just hitting the button to turn it off and that...

SO I went out to jack up my car to get the Belly Pan off so I could drain the coolant. Turns out I only have a 2 ton jack and 2 ton stands lying around. GVWT (weight of B5.5 Passat) is something like 4100-4200 lbs as listed, meaning that I'm over my stands limits... Didn't bother trying, not...

Anyone have a photo/diagram of the location of the drain area? Thanks

Hi PW. The current store bought, steel car ramps I have are fine for the rear of my Passat, but they're too steep for the front - the lower part of the bumper scrapes before the tyres even touch and my car is standard ride height! So, I was thinking about building some ramps like these...

I have a passat 1.8t lowered approx 2 inches. What ramps will work? Thanks All.

I was quickly going over the DIY for oil change in the Informationbase, and wondering if it was ok to do this job with the car on ramps, as mentionned there.. for the oil to drain properly and completely out of the engine, shouldn't the car be flat (on jackstands) instead of with the 'nose...

Hi all, '02 Passat estate PD130, no prizes for guessing whats it used for. Has anyone found car ramps that will fit under the Passat??

I've been taking my sweet ole time on the timing belt replacement, do you think my car's gonna have problems sitting for so long?

Found these and will be getting a set for Xmas. My problems should be solved  For lowered cars

Can I get the wheel high enough with my harborfreight aluminum racing jack, to set the ramp under? I could always go try it...but I have to lug the equipment a fair distance that I don't want to do that if the idea is futile. Why do I want to do this you ask? 1) I hate driving onto the...

If I wanted to put all four wheels (car) on ramps, how would one go about getting the rear wheels onto the ramps? Front wheels; you would simply drive up the ramp.

From the pictures, low profile Rhino ramps are meant just to lift the front of the car. Can I uses four and level the car out :???: ? Theyre low profile, so I'm pretty sure that i can just stuff one in front of each wheel and pove forward slowly :nervous:

I dunno if this is a go price or not, but last night I saw Rhino ramps (the gray plastic ones) on sale at Pep Boys for $19.99, regularly priced at $29.99. I dunno if this is just at the local store or nationally, but if you're in the market, it might be worth a phone call.

I did the first ever oil change on my 03 GLS. It was far from the 45 minutes I anticipated. I had everything ready to roll and found out the ramps I own are to steep for the lower portion of the front end. I couldn't even get the rubber to the metal of the ramps. Not even close. What do you...
