Hello, B5, 1.8T I am replacing the exhaust manifold studs. Is there anything that I need to apply on the new studs before installing them onto the engine block? Especially on the side of the studs that goes in to the block. Thanks

I got these jack stand pads that fit over the business end of the stand with about a one inch deep pocket on the underside of the pad. They will work but they don't fit snugly, they sort of wobble around. What I need is something to fill them with that will dry hard when I plunk it down on top...
