Which MODEL tire is the big Q. Pilot Exalto A/s or something in that ($125) price range. Just put a set on the wife's car and they made a big diffference. 225/50-16 vs 205/55-16? Edit: car has Audi "wineglass" wheels, OE size is 205/55-16 I think All year use (in TN), quiet is nice, no...

Hi all I wish I could just get the ContiSportContact 2 tires, which seem very well rounded, but I unfortunately need some all season tires since it gets cold and snowy here and I can't afford a second set of winter tires. I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with any of the...

Hi all, I've got the 16" Michelin MXV4 on my car and it just clicked 50k miles. All 4 tires are evenly worn but are at the wear bars. I've noticed the car really handles 'squishy' lately. Torque steer and following grooves in the road too. Pressures are the same I've always used. I'm...

I know this thread may seem like a retread :) but at 42K miles my Michelins are ready for replacement. I will be staying with the stock set of wheels 16 inch. With the tires on there now being 205-55-16. I am looking for something that will give me the a nice ride, be fairly quiet, and that...

I have about 23K miles on my '03 Passat 4Mo Variant. The outer edges of my original tires are starting to look questionable. How much tire life have you seen on these things? While on the subject, any recommendations on a future set (brand/type)?

OK tire gurus: I measured the tread depth of the tires on the 4Mo yesterday (stock MIchelins on 16" Road Americas). 5mm left on front, 3mm left on rear. They are not quite down to the wear limit band(?). I am not sure if I should wait until it gets down to that however. 1) For those that stuck...

The Dunlop Sport A2 has a weight load rating of 89 which is less than the 91 rating of the OEM Michelin Energy MXV4 that came with my 1999 Passat Wagen 1.8T. The tire pressure label on the car says 195/65 R15 91H and the Dunlop is 89H. Any problem with this? Also how do you like the Dunlops...

As topic states, I replaced the OEM Michelin MXV4’s with stock size 205/55/16 HR Yokohama YK420’s. What a huge difference! Anyway, the Yokohama’s are much stiffer in the sidewall and the handling is much improved. I was very disappointed with the Michelins, They felt too soft and the rain...
