It's frustrating not to be able to play audio or video messages on my brand new 2018 Passat from the Whatsapp App on my iPhone connected via bluetooth
All my other cars that are a lot older can will play them without any problems
After googling on the subject, I came across an article...
I was headed into the city today and after about 3 minutes on the freeway I get the following warning messages on the instrument cluster screen:
CHECK OIL LEVEL
OIL SENSOR WORKSHOP
I stopped immediately to check oil, oil level was fine.
Turned around to head back...
The Passat makes a loud noise and then displays the following message:
Olstan Prufen (according to Google, check oil level)
I've also seen it display:
olsensor werkstatt (according to Google, check oil sensor)
Even if you switch it to mph, it beeps and turns to German (I'm guess) and km...
Anyone know anything about CAN bus messages?
Do the steering wheel buttons send CAN bus messages?
Can you see those on a PC connected to the CAN bus via VAG-COM cable?
Can you easily convert them to RS232 messages?
