2003 1.8t AWM Relay 384 OK. It clicks. Fuse 25 OK. AC light comes on in the button. Aux fan kicks in. AC compressor clutch engages. System is charged. What could be the problem? Last winter the plenum chamber was flooded (a lot of water) because the previous owner didn’t clean up the drain...

Unfortuntaely I'm coming here due to car issues in our 2014 passat 1.8 tsi. The check engine light came on and its running rough. I took it to autozone, and they said it was the camshaft position sensor. Anyone have any tutorials on how to swap that out? It looks like it was easy on older...

Yo there. Yesterday I was getting back from the grocery when my IDLE became pretty rough. The engine didn't stall but it was amazing how nuts the RPM gauge on the cluster performed. I pulled over for a moment and when I tried to get back to the street the car was completely out for power. As...

'05 1.8 coding intermittent misfire on 2 and 3, losing coolant slowly with definite "steamy" exhaust on startup and first couple hundred feet of drive. Starts rough but smooths out quickly and all other operation is fine. Studied the threads and can't find any clues under coolant or head...

New member, just purchased a 2003 Passat GLS, 65000 miles, very nice condition. I've had a lot of different types/brands of cars and I really like working on the VW's when things are needed. Very well built cars.

You guys might get a kick out of this! A family member was complaining about grinding noises when braking. When I finally got around to checking it out I found this  Car was a 2000 Volvo V40, I was blown away upon seeing these to say the least. Not sure why but this picture is...

I recently purchased a 1999 passat with the 2.8l and a 5 speed manual trans. It has 165k miles, and in the month that I have owned it, I have had to replace pads, calipers, rotors, master cylinder, and now the alternator. When I bought it, I checked the coolant and it was only rated to 0...

Will post pictures tomorrow. The ride quality changed just a little. Feels 100% better then what i thought it was going to feel like. I put on h&r sport springs. Stock shocks and struts. Lowered it about 1.5 inches in the front and 1.3 inches in the back. Car looks absolutly perfect now. :D

This is my first post on PassatWorld, I've been using it for a while now to diagnose problems with my vehicle and there's some great posts on here. However now I have a more serious issue with my 2003 Passat V6 B5.5 wagon but I can't figure out what's causing it. My wife was driving home the...

I am so over this car. Blew the timing belt which destroyed the head (valves bent, couple of seats marred up pretty bad) so i replaced the head. Had a hell of a time starting it. When I did, found coolant spurting out of back corner of block/head. Figured out the head bolts for the new kit were...
