Parting out a 2000 Passat GLS (Engine code: ATW) and I'd like to offer shipping for the engine but have no idea roughly how much they weigh. I figure someone on here has either shipped one or had one shipped to where they might still have the info. Thanks for the help boys.

It never occured to me that my 30 year old, Owatonna Tools, 1/2 inch drive, dial 250# torque wrench appears to be a rare item. Last weekend I drove an hour or so to get in the way of JayTheSnork R/R his front wheel bearing. Matt & John had a wrench that only went to 150#. I wish I had known...

Please don't flame me, I am a NOOB to this forum but i did search and all i could find relating to my situation were B5's and chipped 5.5's... that being said I recently put a boost gauge in (about a week ago) and everything was going great, boosted right up to about 10/11lbs no problem...

Next move? Cleared code and on test drive I still can't get over 5-6 lbs. No discernable leak, vacuum is good at -20. '04 Variant.

Car never seemed "right" since I bought it, at least compared to the 1.8t Beetle/Gti's that I'd driven prior to getting it. Replaced the Vacuum lines from the intake to FPR and from intake to DV. Installed a boost gauge (reads 20-22 Hg for vacuum), replaced PCV and check-valve nearest intake...

Gas cap door says max payload is 990 lbs for my 99 1.8T waygone. I am 160 lbs, I have 100lbs in stereo equipment, I assume the spare tire is included, and I need to pick up 600 ft2 of walnut flooring. This makes a total of 860 lbs, so I assume I'm OK as long as I increase tire pressure...

I have a stock 2002 1.8T GLS Standard, I know about which chips are avaliable and do not want 245ft lbs of torque, because the stock conti 195s will just spin, and I have stock suspension. I want just alittle more power thant stock and UpSolute seems to have the numbers i prefer. 166 - 205hp...

Is 24 lbs. heavy for a cast alum 17" wheel? Looking at Ace Allures, 17" rims........ the guy said they weigh 24 lbs. Is this heavy guys? How much do VW stock 17" rims weigh?

I've been on a quest to find the lightest stock 15" size wheels for the Passat, which has the less common 5x112 pattern. The Adelaide style rims I have are supposed to be the lightest OEM style, but they are merely cast aluminum rims and weigh 17 lbs. There are forged aluminum 17" rims that...

I disconnected (electrically) the N75 to log some "no boost" data. To my surprise I still got an easy 2 lbs boost, 3 lbs under really big load. Is this normal? What causes it?

Just put my new wheels and tires on. There is a 9lb difference between my stocks and the RS4s. Took her out for a ride and it doesn't feel any slower or stop slower which I was worried about. Can't wait to drop her now.

I am thinking about getting these ASA ST3 wheels that are 18x8". They weigh 27 lbs each. Is that too much or average for this size of wheel? I don't need a super light wheel, but I sure don't want a slug either. Thanks, Kevin These wheels

I've been chipped about a year now (GIAC for '99 AEB). After several months I noticed loss of torque at the lower end. Installed boost gauge about 2 weeks ago. Discovered I was only getting about 15 lbs. boost, expected 18. On deceleration I was getting about 22mm on the vacuum side (as...
