I seem to have found a good price on the WIX 5133/NAPA 1333 oil filters for the 1.8T: $7.19 each plus shipping out of Wix 51333. I ordered five and shipping to OK was $11.39 for the five. This is better than I can get from my local NAPA, even with the shipping.

Has anybody tried fitting the NAPA Gold "Big Kahuna" #1333 oil filter on the V6 ATQ engine? I compared the relevant specs on the Big Kahuna 1333 filter to the #1355 filter that NAPA specs for the V6 ATQ engine. These are the results: FIL #1333 Gasket ID - 62.54 mm Gasket OD - 71.98 mm Filter...

I have the 1.8T and it was oil and filter time. I had been running the Napa 1333 and this time they were out. so I went to pepboys and got the Purolator L40316. Normaly they cost about half of what Napa charged. Today at Pepboys they have a rebate for $2.48 per filter and they are on sale for...

Pep Boys has Purolator Premium Plus Filters for 1 cent (this is not a typo), with coupon, after mail in rebate, limit 2. You can get the L40316 for next to nothing. Beats paying $8 to $12 for similar Kahunas. Remember, the L40316 is a rebadged Mann - it's an excellent filter IMO.

Just picked up a Purolator Premium Plus L40316 (aka the Kahuna) for $1.99 w/coupon. Also has a $1.00 mail in rebate if you want to go to the trouble, bringing your cost down to $.99 - not too shabby. Normally this filter is about 8 bucks. Usually when I open the pkg, I see a white filter...

I have the big 4-0 service coming up and to celebrate I spent some serious coin on Amsoil 5W-40. I was going to get an OEM Mann filter, but I was wondering if there is any benefit for us V6 owners? Conversely, will it hurt to use the bigger filter?

Like it says, I went to the mechanic and we installed the Big Kahuna and 0w-40 Mobil 1 and then I headed home. When I got home and was lying in bed almost asleep, I realized that I forgotten all about that crush washer on the plug. But then it dawned on me that there never was one in the first...

So I just did my second oil change, using Castrol Syntec. I went to the local VW Dealership and asked for the oversized oil filter. Man, this thing is a monster! Makes the old one look like a joke. It must hold a liter of oil in it alone... it added about half a liter to my overall fill...

Well, I go and get my car seviced at the dealer today. I mention to him that I know VW has spec'd a different filter for my car. Of course, he has no idea. Well, I get the car back along with a quart left of the 4.5 qrts I gave them. I sense that they probably didn't use the right filter...

Well, my new variant just reached 5k, so after reading these forums, I decided to "do-it-yourself" with the NAPA 1333 Big Kahuna (and a Syntec blend 5W-30) instead of going to a quicky-lube. I just went with conveniece for the first time around, and got the filter at the NAPA distribution store...
