Is it a possibility that the temp sensors bad...

Hey passatworld. I took my passat on a 2 hr trip today and we went over 2 mountains. When I was going up over the mountain I was running at like 3/4 throttle. It jumped off the 190 mark up to about 220-230 in like 10 seconds then went right back down to 190. This happened 2 other times on the...

I just had an engine put in my Passat due to low oil pressure. The STOP warning light came on and several mechanical gauges confirmed there was an oil pressure issue. With the new engine, the STOP warning light still comes on, but several other gauges say the pressure is great. The temperature...

Just picked up a 04 Passat 1.8T for my daughter. I had to change the engine, shocks and tires so far. The next problem to tackle is the gas guage. The guage reads empty all the time and Vagcom even says the fuel sender has and 'open or short'. It doesn't know. Any advice troubleshooting to...

2000 1.8t has a temp guage that reads cold even after running for an extended time. The heater is working. I replaced the temp control switch about a year ago. Is this a bad swith or do I need a thermostat? The engine runs rough at startup then seems fine after a couple minutes.

Since it is very important to not turn off the engine while the turbo is still hot to avoid coking oil in the turbo bearings, why not have a temp guage for the turbo to take the guess work out of when it's safe to turn off engine? I've done searches for turbo temp guage, but nothing came up. Thanks

Grey A-Pillar Pod or a single CENTER positioned steering column pod would work. Looking to spend about $20 or so, so if you have anything you'd like to get rid of that would be great. Used condition is fine, as long as it screws/clips on and isn't busted up. Only need pod, already have gauge and...

Im adding an oil pressure gauge and I'm trying to find a dual gauge pod for the steering column. So far the only two possibilities I've be able to find are these from ECS. One for an MK6 and the other just seems to be a generic. The single gauge pod I have now doesn't go down the sides of the...

I just noticed this today. As I was driving on the highway, i noticed everytime I go over 50mph, my temp. guage slowly begins to increase past 190 degrees! So I would stop and go under 50mph to get the gauge to go down to 190. I am nervous. Might need to make a trip to Milwaukee tomorrow from NE...
