Bought a 2004 b5.5 Passat 1.9tdi recently and have been having some trouble with the car going in to limp mode. Scanned it with a torque obd2 scanner and discovered that the maf graph spikes like crazy even at idle.
This led me to replace the maf sensor, but this has still not solved the issue...
Is this MAF under-reporting. It is a 2.0 AZM Motor, at sea level at around 17 deg C. Curve seems to be smooth enough and relates well do what the motor is doing (with the limitation of slow sample rate). Graph is a little hard to read but:
3300rpm = 51GPS
4300rpm = 70GPS
5850rpm = 100GPS...
Had Limp mode problems.

I usually do 65 speedo/62 gps for my guess at peak fuel economy.
