I'm thinking about buying the Motive oil extractor (I can bleed brakes with it also). Are there any comparable products I should consider first? Any paricular vendor? I'm thinking about just ordering it from ECS.

I did my last oil change very successfully using my Pela 6000. But, as an extra step, I drove the rear of the car up on Rhino Ramps so that when the oil drained back into the oil pan it would all be towards the front of the engine. I did this thinking it would make it easier to get all the oil...

i'm just curious if anyone has used an oil extractor for changing their oil? i'm thinking about getting one to change my own oil because i dont have a garage with a floor jack to get under the car and do it myself, just wondering if anyone has used it? and does it even work on a V6?

My searching seems to indicate that most people around here that own a power fluid tool own a pressure bleeder like the Motive brake bleeder. It also seems that a growing number of people own suction extractors too, such as the various Pela extractors and the newer Motive Power Extractor...

I have done some searching and just wanted to get a feel on what is the best quality/cost extractor out there. I am considering it because I am having to change my oil basically every other month. Is there any concern about the tube coming apart and getting lodged into the dipstick tube? My luck...

I've heard (and verified) that the dipstick tube is obstructed in the V6. Can an oil extractor still work, maybe through the main oil opening? I know that with the V6 the car still needs to be jacked up to get at the filter, but the Mann filters I'm using should be good for two oil changes...
