We've all had situations where we couldn't avoid hitting something due to speed, safety comfort (risk taking), etc.
About two weeks ago, driving on a Sunday afternoon (w/ sun at bad angle), guard rail on the right, semi-truck in passing lane, running 60-65...I first noticed the object about 1/4...
Remember the colored wax that used to be available? Many included what was called a "Chip-stick." I once had a Catalina Blue MK III Golf and the blue version of that stuff worked great. Well, at least until I washed the car, but you can't get chip-sticks anymore. Fast-forward 2 decades later...
2003 VW Passat v6 "ABS" Warning lights. Does the warning bulb EVER burn out ?
What is up with the ABS warning light on the dash.
Sometimes it comes on as soon as i start the car, other times 3 out of 10 starts it comes on 1/2 mile down the street.
I love the car but i have heard the ABS...
Im thinking of getting some 20" staggered Rotiform Blq's in black but I may end up going with 19's instead. I would love to see some pics of a 19x10 and 20x10 rear setup on the b7. Thanks guys. This is my ride as it looks now.
Curious to know if anyone ever shopped at this place or has 1st hand experience on the parts they sell?

Ok, I've got a 2.0 2008 Wagon @ 105,000mi and I've been told that I might have to replace the harness in the engine due to 'old brittle' harness.
First off, I looked around and can't seem to find a DIY for this. Troubling and leading into; Second, this sounds like BS.
Trying to convince my sister she needs to stop paying dealership prices. In searching for labor times for her serpentine belts and tensioners, I ran across these guys. Just wondering if anyone has ever used them.
Got a friend from work who brought his car over with a STOP condition on it tonight.
Before it got to me, it was at a local garage. They pulled the bottom oil pan section off and said the engine was junk. But they would not explain why and then did him a favor by only charging $315 to diagnose...
I live on the east coast of Canada. I purchased a 2009 Passat 2.0T with 113,000km on it a month ago from a local VW dealer. Car seemed to be in great shape, I was told it was locally purchased and dealer maintained since day 1. Original driver was a serious VW guy and traded it in when...
I saw this oil filter wrench at Pep Boys for $10. Had to try it.
And the money shot:
Worked like a charm! Didn't spill at all, and way better than using plastic bags that wrap around the top as you unscrew the filter and can leak.
The base is your ordinary cup-style filter wrench, and...

Just wanted to know if anyone has ever heard of them and or if it is any good. Thanks
Historically, we've seen very few problems with head gaskets on these cars; almost never happened, despite everyone and his mechanic thinking they had a failure. Indeed, "your head gasket is bad" is a classic way shady mechanics separate you from a chunk of change without doing anything visible...
So I started a conversation with Steve from Chicago.. and he suggested I start a forum up about it. Here is the conversation and I hope somebody can take it somewhere from here and also offer some advice or past experience with the issue. Thanks
I see you're somewhat of a residential...
I am in Nova Scotia Canada. I hit a deer the other night with my 2000 2.8 4motion wagon. I had it hauled to the VW Guru here in the Annapolis Valley. I am a musician and starting this weekend we are flat out for the summer, doing shows in the Maritime Provinces and flying out west a few...
