I've removed the "Passat" letters, and I've removed a dealers plaque from the right side. Pictured is what happened after removing the adhesive. What can I do to get rid of this? There is a slight cloud from a few of the letters on the left side but not too bad. I'm happy with how they turned...

I want to debadge my trunk and get rid of the PASSAT and V6 logos. What my biggest concern is how much sun fade am i going to be facing? I read up on some old topics and no one seems to address the issue of sunfading. I dont want to remove them and still be able to read it on the paint clear...

I just did my 2000 white passat (11 years old. 11 years of the original paint.) Took 30 mins, used fishing line, a hairdryer, washcloth, and Goo Gone. Just held the hairdryer on the letter for about a minute on high, and flossed it off (Very easy to do). Used my fingernail to take off the rest...

I'm going to pull all the lettering off this weekend. I kind of like the VW badges, just not in chrome. I want to paint them black, and I'm wondering how gloss black would look against the Black Pearl paint? Any opinions?

I have a 1998 1.8t, and after a recent storm, I had some pretty ugly clear coat issues. See here: If/when I get around to fixing the paint, I might consider de-badging the car. The procedure looks pretty simple, using some...

now - hypothetically speaking - say i wanted to debadge using the posted technique(s), would the same work if i wanted to remove the "passat v6" lettering or would that be something more technical? also, say i wanted to re-place them on the trunk in different spots? how would one go about doing...

I'm considering debadging my 2000 passat, I've tried to find info on this but no luck. Is the "vw" badge secured by adhesive and pin holes? or just adhesive? Wouldnt want to go through with it and have a nasty looking trunk. Thanks in advance

Hi I've just taken off the PASSAT badge from the back of my car, using dental floss, WD40 and then polished with T-Cut scratch remover and Autoglym super resin polish. Trouble is, you can still see where the letters have been, the area is *slightly* darker. Is there anything I can do about...

I am not looking for a fight I am just curious. A lot of Passat photos here have all or most of the badging removed. I don't get it. I love the look of the Passat but without the badges (especialyl the large VW ciricles) I think it starts to look a little generic. My guess is that it comes...

hey could someone please tell me how i'd go about debadging my trunk lid? i'm not sure if it simply involves a flathead and some elbow grease, so if you know how i could do it w/o stratching up the paint, i'd greatly appreciate it. niraj
