Hi, i have a 20v 1.8t with 135k miles on it,should the cam chain be worn out now? or would it be more likley that the cca is worn? on start up i get 3-4seconds of rattle almost every time and at tickover i have the same sort of rattle but quiter. Cheer Ray

Does anyone know if a leaky cam seal or possibly a bad cam chain adjuster would be covered under the powertrain warranty? VWoA says no because it's not part of the powertrain. Huh!? I just had my oil cooler replaced under warranty, why not this? They recomended that I bring it to the dealer...

I have no oil leaks but lots of noise coming from the engine top backend. I've serached/read here and there partial instructions and some mention to remove both the intake and exhaust cams on non AEB engines. I'd rather not remove the exhaust cam b/c that would imply a complete TB job as well...
