Just purchased a 1998 Passat it is due for an oil change. I have always used AmsOil in all of my vehicles, boats etc... Have other users used the 5w40 they offer?? Looking for other recomendations also. Thank you!!

Does anyone who uses this oil know why the API "donut" isn't on the bottle? Also, the bottle says recommended when VW 502.00, 505.00, or 503.01 is required, but it doesn't say it's VW approved. Is that just semantics, or does it not meet those requirements? I just became a preferred customer...
