When I wasn't lowered I didn't notice any rubbing issues when I ran 235/45/17's on my BBS VZ's. Before dropping the Passat on H&R/Bilstein's I did have the front fenders rolled by a body-shop to prevent any issues.
Hey, I saw a post you made a few years ago on PassatWorld. You said that you've been running 235/45/17s on your Passat and I'm curious if you've ever heard any rubbing issues. I just replaced my 225/45/17s on my 17x7 rims with 235/45/17s on my 01.5 Passat. I can hear a little noise when I turn really sharp, like when pulling into a parking space, but I can't tell where it might be coming from. I've already cut out some of the plastic in the wheel well but it didn't seem to help. Just curious if another owner has ever had the same issue and what it took to resolve it. I don't want to cause premature wear on my tires or rub them to the point where the warranty is no good anymore.
