I suppose I'll let the cat out of the bag.
The W8 that I purchased is from veteran
JayTheSnork.
I've been on the prowl quite a while for a W8, for those who know me, I was looking for a black on black. Found a few, WAY overpriced for what they were. Ironically enough, there are two of them for sale in the same city that I used to live in while in WI.
Guy wants $5k (each) for cars that are in serious sorts of disarray, not even close to running.
Jay was keen on what I was after. We spoke and he offered up his car for a deal I couldn't refuse. This car was very well taken care of by both of the previous owners. I was impressed when I actually laid my eyes on it.
After a hell-o-time with transporting the vehicle, the vehicle came to me with some pretty serious scratches all along the passengers side and the truck driver stole one the Key Fobs!
Other than all the crap Jay and I put up with in that respect, I pretty much just jumped in the car and drove off into the sunset. Car will be getting it's oil changed this weekend.
VWGUY4EVER you can stop bustin' my chops. Trust me, I'm the right guy for this car. Jay and the previous owner had that car set-up pretty well. There are few things I would like to do to the car, not right away, but not to far in the future.
To do list:
Short term, there is a clunking noise coming from what I think is the sub-frame or a control arm. That'll get taken care of.
Carrier bearing will be replaced.
The scratches and the few minor dings that were on the car will be getting fixed and then car will be going in for a Ceramic coat and a clear film paint protection job.
Longer term:
A set of PSS9's will be getting installed.
A set of reworked aluminum uprights with brand new wheel bearing assemblies.
A set of 17z (Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7, VW Touareg) calipers with matching rotors and hats.
Would like to fit a set of P235's or P245's shoes on the corners after the brake upgrade.
Eventually, the whole drivetrain and suspension will be removed and the whole underside of the car will be soda blasted to remove any rust and repainted.
