hole in brake master cylinder reservior

I posted about this in the 'what did you do to your B5 today' thread but I wanted to post up pictures also.

Back in 2013 when I swapped in a replacement engine, I changed out many old and worn out parts, the master cylinder reservoir was one of them.
About a month ago I noticed a hairline crack around the 'seam' of the plastic, I shrugged it off and just gave it the "I'll replace it later" attitude.
About a week or so ago the brake light came on again. Look at that freaking hole!
I can't imagine how much crap is getting into that reservoir. With the dust we have down here.
Already ordered a new Genuine Audi/VW replacement. When that comes in, it will be a full on flush with alcohol and a bleed with all new brake fluid.

Would you like a new master cylinder and fries with that? While you’re there ...

The same thing happened to my old lady 98’ AEB. Replaced with a junk yard reservoir.

    Ugh
ECS Tuning sent me a Dear John letter this morning. There's going to be a delay in the shipping of the master cylinder reservoir. Hope it doesn't take much longer. The clutch was a little sketchy on the way into work this morning.

Been there ... done that. My 1996 A4 is on its second reservoir (brake only, no clutch). These things get brittle with age.

I have to say that when my son brought the wagon back from Phoenix the first time, that dust impressed me. All over. In every crevice. I whacked the air filter on the garage floor, and got a bunch more.

I'm not doing jack until the new parts come.
I really need the rain tray cowl cover for that car. The early model ones with the round hole for the master cylinder are getting hard to come by.
