    2004 W8 6mt...

Many of you know this car. it's a 2004 W8 6mt in Pacific Blue, grey leather interior. 113k. adult-owned and driven. car is located in southeastern Connecticut.
previous owner's pix are here: http://www.w8forum.dk/forum_posts.as...d-passat-sedan

    the good stuff:
KWV1 coilovers, presently dialed down to about 1" less than stock.
Dual magnaflow exhaust, crossover pipe installed.
Stock 17" Madras wheels included, but not in awesome shape - about 7 out of 10. brand new Conti DWS with less than 1000 miles.
Interior is 9 out of 10; driver's seat shows a normal amount of wear on the left bolster.
ECU has a tune, but 1st gear rev limiter is not removed.
plugs were changed at 100k miles.
the counterbalance shaft belt and tensioner were replaced at 100k miles.
the accessory belt, waterpump, and tensioner were replaced at 100k miles (yes, that 100k mile service cost me a pretty penny).
Icelink hooked up to factory Monsoon stereo system, all speakers replaced in 2013.
    CAI with custom heat shield.
Thor heavy duty aluminum belly pan - it saved my ass multiple times.
Both cam adjusters replaced under warranty by the dealer before I bought it.
brand new Meyle HD control arms installed about a month ago.
Raxles left front axle installed 2 weeks ago.
thermostat was changed in 2016, 6 months after I bought the car.
front coolant temperature sensor was also replaced in 2016.

the flexpipes have a small leak, but are not blown wide open. it actually sounds pretty good.

I have loads of B5 parts, and you'll get all of them. I'll also include my paper Bentley. all of you who've been here for a while know I take care of my stuff. if you want somewhat of a unicorn, this is a car for you - there were 432 of these imported into the US for model years 2002-2004. there's likely to be half or so left running around.

$5k firm. no dreamers or lowballs. this car is set up like it should be. there will be no part-out.

pix available upon request via email ([email protected]), as I'm not posting them here. I don't get here that often, so please don't post here looking for pix or other info - use my email.

I would normally agree, but anybody that knows or has been around here should know Jay is for real.
There are at least a few pictures on the forum showing Jay's W8.

there are too many cars in my driveway; I just bought a new Atlas, and it needs more room than I thought.

frankly, at 61, I've found that without a lift its getting difficult for me to get up and down off the garage floor when I have to do maintenance. as I mentioned in my original post, it has new control arms and a new axle, and those two jobs wore me out and took far longer than they used to even though I have the right tools. I'd rather see the car go to someone who will personally maintain it - there aren't many mechanics who understand the inner workings of this motor.

Oh brother can I relate to that! You've only got a few years on me and I'm already much slower than I used to be. Hopefully some of that changes when I drop all this excess weight I've gained in the last couple of years. That really did me in as far as mobility goes.
With this next step major step in my life (start building a house sometime this year) if I can't get a lift in the garage, I'll be in the same frame of mind.
I've got 5 vehicles right now, 3 of them need engines and driveline pulled out and completely overhauled and one of those is my DD!

    The 3 vehicles are:
    1) My DD as already mentioned. I've neglected that car so much, it just looks and runs like a$$ right now. Still needs a clutch. Can't believe it's made it this far.
    2) My W8. Needs an engine tear down and overhaul, new clutch and driveline overhaul. I'd really like to see this project through before I'm 6 feet under.
    3) My 1966 Ford F250 4x4. Same, needs an engine and driveline rebuild. That vehicle is so easy to work on, but thems there parts are HEAVY.

I feel much the same way. Everything hurts after a long day in the garage or yard.
