    Skoda vents

    Sirs
    As mentioned before, something new:
(Had deleted my pics, so new ones had to be made)

    Shots at daylight:

The OEM Hazard switch was replaced by the Skoda one
    ETKA No.:3U0 953 235 D 300 (Vehicles without tow bar)
    3U0 953 235 E 300 (Vehicles with tow bar) , price: 43,21€ (each)

Socket (needed for the hazard switch) :
    Etka No.: 8L0 971 972 2,98€

Pins of the hazard switches have to be changed

    VW GOES TO SKODA
    1 (black/white/green 1
    2 (black/green) 2
    3 (black/white) 3
    4 (grey/blue) 4
    5 (brown) 6
    6 (black/green) 7
    7 (red/yellow) 8

to do it, this tool is recommended:

also helpful to do the convenience blinking module mod

The colour is called onyx/galvano.A1 match with net optic
    Other colours are availiable too.

    Left vent : 3U0 819 701 E NDU 92,30€
    Right vent: 3U0 819 701 E NDU 92,30€
    Mid vent: 3U0 820 951 E NDU 122€

Bought the whole set on ebay for 95€

As we all know ,Skoda vents are illuminated green

    Mine are not

    Shots at night:

    Welcome to NCC 1701:

If you take a sharp look you will see a little red glowing dot besides the horizontal adjusters. Not availiable, DIY.It finishes the look.My camera isn´t good at night shots, but you can believe me that it makes THE difference

My wife says that my car with all those lightening (W8 map-lamp, door handles, shift knob, Phaeton ambient on the back seats and the vents), is looking like a rollin´ brothel

If someone wants to do this mod too:

    Mini-update:

Heated windshild washer noozles, ebay found 25€:
alredy installed, no problem.Power supply: pin15/switched ignition

Auto-dimming rearview mirror, ebay found too, 50€:

not installed yet, i´ve to purchase a glue-pad for my blueheat antenna first, because it sticks on the windshield where the mirror has to be placed.

    Audi R8 oilcap, adds 10hp ,

fits to all 4 and 6 cylinder B5/B5.5 , gasoline and gasoil.W8 and V5 : Needs to be modded a little bit to be in a right angle to the engine cover (as you see)

    ETKA:420 103 485B 22€

    New rear rotors:

Those are OEM sized, drilled Zimmermann rotors.
Paid 150€ for rotors and pads.

Actually i wanted to change the calipers too. There was a set of a 4Mo on ebay ( 259mm, ventilated rotors), but wasn´t sure if they would fit.In this case i would have replaced the delivered rotors by some W8´s (269mm).Didn´t want to waste my money, so I have to wait until my brother-in-law realizes his brake upgrade on his car.In this case i´m in front for a complete RS4 brake

    @Achtuning:
Custom made product, from our local plotter shop .
Sticks on a piece of alloy, which is fixed with two rivets on the bumper.
You know what this saying/slogan means??

"sluts bend over further" I think? Grandparents were Pennsylvania Dutch so not exactly sure if thats the direct translation!!! Do you think the plotter shop would be willing to make something else up? If so, maybe an email address? Thanks friend!

    Under the hood mods

    Sirs

    Lashing eyes chrome /chrome
    Unnecessary but nice

Coming from Audi RS6 / VW Bora Highline
    1J0 864 203 D ZZ, 12,37 € each

Say hello to Mr. Cool(ant cap)

Comes from Audi R8 and adds further 10 hp
    ETKA No.: 420 121 321, 52,90 €
Little modifying needed to lock in the right angle. No problem.

Because i was pissed of the missing lighting under my bonnet, i designed an own one by using

    a) A prefabricated, self adhesive LED strip, 30 LED´s, 60 cm (availiable on ebay)

    b) auto level switch ( bought at the German "radio shack")

    c) VAG housing
    1x 1J0 972 923 0,88€
    1x 191 972 712 2,32€

    VAG Wires
    1x 000 979 133 (1,0 mm²) 1,52€
    1x 000 979 129 (1,0 mm²) 1,52€

    d) own made holder, from a piece of alloy (10x25mm), folded and sticked with "bond and seal" under the bonnet

Soldered switch with wires and shrinking hose:

    added housing:

    fixed:

You can see the switch carrier in the upper right corner

The switch is fixed with a tie rap at the carrier

    The result:
    Prince of the light

When opening the bonnet, the led strip lights up automatical

Power supply lead off from the battery.Of course with a fuse carrier and a 7,5 Amp. fuse (hidden in the battery bay).Ground supply at the bonnet beneath the noise absorbing mat

    Sir

Very easy, but i have to confess that mine is the "poor solution", which means that it´s only dimming (no re-dimm function when driving backwards). This is O.K. to me.
For this kind of installing you only have to connect switched ignition and ground.
You have to obey that there are two versions which are not interchangable.
    With rain sensor and without.

I think this is illegal, too.
    (§ 49a Abs. 1 StVZO)
"Die dritte Bremsleuchte darf - wie andere Beleuchtungseinrichtungen - nicht verdeckt sein - auch nicht teilweise."

    But it looks good.
