    At length………

Three months ago, I purchased a B5.5 cluster from a German forum member. He offered me two different ones. The first was in good condition and OEM. The second was opened and the cluster surface was covered with wood-grain film (Water-transfer-print process)

He never installed the cluster because his Passat was sold before

Wood-grain decor isn´t that what fits in my theme ,so I sanded the cluster.

    3 hours later.........

For sure you all know what I was planning……..
I asked for a price at two different enterprises.
The first was the one, I gave my parts to in the past, the second one handles with real CF.
    It ended 50€ to 250€.

I choose the first option ...........

    This is the re-assembled cluster:

    CF film FTW

Then I bought a set Speedo-needles, which were pimped up a bit:

Because there were some custom-made stickers left over, I made a virtue out of necessity:

Now let´s have a look on the ready product:

    Installed:

    In the dark:

    Comments are appreciated

    THX for looking

    WOW, that's AMAZING!!!

But your needles need to be on the first line not below it, that needs to be fixed. I couldn't get those type of needles to work right (it looks you like can't either, so this is why I used my OEM needles).

Here's a pic of mine, see how the speed needle is on the first line, that's where you want all of them to be.

I want my gas needle to be on the last (right) line

But as stated before, they´ve been placed on the same position as before.

    Hmmmm.....

    Hi.
I changed the frontplate/frame which is usually a complete piece with the clear Makrolon shield. I purchased an opened one from a German forum member, to put the CF film on it.

I suggest that your question is : Will the B 5.5 housing fit on my B5 instruments.

    YES, IT WILL

i've got the same gas pedal as you do about 13.5 cm tall and 4.4 cm wide pretty straight pedal just a little curved at the bottom. the part number you have listed for gas pedal is a whole lot smaller i know because i have it and it doesn't fit. can you help me with the correct part number for the gas pedal cover?

the accelerator pedal cover part number you gave is wrong. i have same part number as you've listed Acclerator pedal: Audi TT 8N1 721 647 B
and i have the same gas pedal as you do on your car and that pedal cover doesn't fit. what year is you car?
my gas pedal measures about 13.5 cm tall and 4.5 cm wide
8N1 721 647 B is way smaller and is curved in shape.

    Sir
My car was made 04/99, and i never said that the acclerator pedal is p&p. The pedal needs to be adapted by cutting, and the cover has to be bend a bit IIRC. I fixed it with seal & bond
For p&p installation you need a car made ~2000, and then a Skoda part is required: 3U1 721 647

    You are soooooooo right

CaptainFantastic is still LIGHT YEARS ahead of all of us

My only small saving grace is that I sold this Spring my Skoda Superba shifter to JaytheSnork and got in June this one without consulting a soul:
Picasa Web Albums - Anson - Illuminated Shifter vs Skoda Superba

which indicates I at least took the right independent BABY steps towards
Mr. DO It ALL. I did the same with selling the hard to get DieselGeek ShortShifter for the Neuspeed. IMHO both were upgrades. And of course BOTH are waiting to be installed

Michael is extraordinary and reminds me of one of my best friends who grew up in Germany, was an apprentice German cabinet maker, became and and married a model; lived next door; and in his next life did it all: house remodeling galore even hidden rooms for wealthy Greenwichnites.

Very few share like Mr. CaptainFantastic

And if we could combine just a modicum of his mods with that of the operating experience of ytqm:
Well She Made it... 300K - Page 2 - Passat World Forums

we'd all be in Pig Heaven

Michael: Is there a single source(to somewhat lessen the hit of the $US on the $shipping) online to acquire the following
    1)W8 chrome boot console surround
2)chrome B5.5 center console plate (REAR above the cig. lighter)
    3)Phantom DEAD Pedal: like yours!
4)the discontinued Kamei 42067 stainless protector sill (absolutely no luck despite email responses from UK distrib and Germany hdqtrs!)

    to finish my mods?

And I'm thinking of adding the NewSouthPerformance Oil Gauge podded onto the steering column!

    Thanks Michael,
    Anson
