I was just in Solon for 3 days at Demag training. I will be in Miamisburg like the 3rd week of Sept. for training. Maybe we can work something out.

    Hello 98greendash:
HELP!!!!!! MULTIPLE MISFIRE CODES - 2004 VW PASSAT 1.8 Gls TURBO

I joined to see if I can get some answers to some trouble I have been having with Passat.

First, when the car is turned on in the morning I have to hold the key for about 10 to 15 seconds (sometimes longer.) I hear the car cranking but if I let go of the key it will not turn on. Finally when it does turn on a lot of heavy white smoke comes blows out the back. This lasts between 2 and 3 minutes. Secondly, when I am ready to take off and I put the shifter in drive the car does not accelerate. It hesitates and sputters and goes very slowly for the first 30 minutes every time I press the accelerator and does not past 1000 RPM's. This is even worst at an uphill incline.........it feels as if the car is going to go back. Also, my check engine light is always on- sometimes is intermittent.

We have changed the spark plugs, the ignition coils and the connectors, oxygen sensor, MAF sensor, timing belt. MY husband had the following codes from the diagnostic tool: P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0140, P0299. We cannot figure out what is wrong with the car.

    Thanks for any help!!!

a question for you. How is the coolant level in the bottle? you could have a head gasket that is going bad. You could also have an oil pressure issue which is not keeping the lifters pumped up and not letting the valves operate properly. Let me know.

Jamie worked on my b5.5 last weekend and now she runs like she is back on the autobahn. If your having trouble with your German you need to the get it to him. You won't be sorry! Never going to the dealer again. Do yourself a favor and save yourself some money. Get a uhaul and trailer if you have to. Thanks again Jamie.

98greendash, could you PM me? Tried but could not send you a PM. I have a B5 that needs front end work and will be in the Spring Township, PA area mid-December, hoping to see about setting up time to have you look at car. Thanks.
