HKB5variant, just a simple question...

How did you stick the interior chrome trim on the panel? The panel is covered by low surface energy plastics, which common adhesive is hard to stick... :???: Did you permanently stick them? or you have any secret method to do so?

The secret is sticking it by Pentax transparent multi-purpose glue.
It's packed like a toothpaste. It's heat and water resistant after applied.

Evenly apply on the cleaned surfaces of both the trim and the panel, then allow them to dry out before sticking them together.
    Press it firmly. That's it.

I have no intention to remove this nice stripe even it is going to be resale. You have to think about this by yourself.

After trials, I found my way on installing those stripe. Here it goes:

    1) clean the panel with alcohol.
    2) stick a layer of aluminum foil (one side self adhersive).
    3) clean the surface of alu-foil.
    4) clean the back surface of the stripe.
    5) put a proper amount of blu-tack on the back of stripe.
    6) press the stripe firmly on the alu-foil.

That's it. It is now possible to remove the stripe without damaging the panel surface.

    Hi guys!!!

I'm new to this forum...just joined actually. I live in Hong Kong and on my third Passat now. Used to own two VR6 Passat B4s and had just obtained a 2000 1.8T Passat(B5) Variant (Stationwagon) earlier this year.

Looking forward to learning / knowing you all!

Hi, I just bought a 98 passat, I find it really very rare in HongKong! So it is difficult to find a garage to do maintenance. After a few days driving, I think B5 is a good car, especially the 1.8T engine, it's quite smooth. I am happy to share experience with you all here later....

Dah Chong Hong is the sole agent for VW/Audi so they can perform the maintenance.
If cost is an issue you can always try Challenger in Kwun Tong.

I noticed that your headlights look like they're one piece, I guess that's what "integrated turn signals" means. Are those the same ones you can find on eBay for less than the FKs?

I know some OEM Chinese parts don't fit US Passats. I wonder how these lights will do. Did you change out the bulbs in the Halos or did they come with that whitish-blue look?

Do you have stubby side mirrors on both sides?

    Your car is AMAZING.

Those look like the headlights I got. What bulbs did you use for the halos?

    Nice ride by the way.
