Very nice Variant. What's with the nitrogen filled tires, was that a joke?

    Hi
No, it's not a joke, true!
    It's nitrogen gas not NITRO(nitroglycerin).

Why nitrogen gas though? Wouldn't Helium work better if what you're trying to accomplish is to make them lighter??

It is said that nitrogen gas effects tire noise reduction, stable tire pressure not expanded with heat.
It's a popular mod here in japan.

But does it do what it's supposed to do? If so that's something worth looking into.

nice ride, and they do the same thing in europe as well, for the nitro felled tires , my father's car as the tires filled with it, they never lose pressure, garanteed

    Hi Kokopelli,

Nice ride man! R32 steer shift is great!!
I've heard of your pad-shifter mod from some of our friends, but never saw it on pics. Wow, amazing work kokopelli, but where did you took the indicator signal from?

I saw silver passat wagon with full oettinger kit on it the other day, I thought it was you... was so alike.

    Hi daigo

    Thanks!!

The indicator signal is taken from the conector link to TCM at the bottom of right A piller.
Let me know if you need more specifics, I have some detailed pic.

    Hi kokopelli,

Gee, that mod is awesome!! Seems quite convenient for driving too.
But first I need to refresh my Passat. I just replaced/ spent on my 2nd sets of front control-arms, and Koni-shocks. Now waiting for new Eng mounts, light-weight pulley, coolant, A/C tentioner, and SHAKEN on Dec.

Need to save money for another mods...

    Thank you !
It's simple mod, desolder original Red LED and switch to Blue one.
Just be careful not breaking the circuit board when taking apart the tip switch.

Yep, it makes me fun to drive

Where did you get the light-weight pulley from?
If you got from ASP, I heard their 1.8T pulley has some fitment issue.
    :suspicio: :???:

    Kokopelli,

Mine is ECS made. AEB,ATW and AUG will fit, so probablly my APU will fit also. ECS pulley could be an ASP-OEM, so I'll search for ASP site for the fitment matter. 1.8T has A/C belt and generator belt, could be a TIPS for these 2 belts...

Thanks - what is needed to get to the LED? How does the Tip surround come out?

Taka apart whole center console, shift lever and pry off Tabs "B", now you can see the back side of the circuit board that adhesive taped inside of chrome shift gate part.
Carefully take of the circuit board, you can access the small LED tip.

Be careful, tab "B" and the circuit board are easy to broken, need to buy whole expensive shift gate assembly to replace

    hope this will help
