Passat Of The Month - June 2005
Lottie Siann (therockshow182)

My parents were the ones to introduce me to the beloved Passat… purchasing it with the hopes that it would be a reliable and safe car for me to learn on… but, to be honest, when I first saw the car I didn’t know what to make of it. I somewhat liked the way it looked, but at the same time certain things about it annoyed me. Such as the unnecessary wheel gap, and the small stock rims. At that time I knew little about all cars, especially my own.

After I received my license and began driving more I noticed how the car would handle rather uneasily at high speeds. I also noted how, even at low speeds, the car’s body would roll uncomfortably around corners. To fix that I decided I needed to buy some after market wheels, which I determined would mend most of the problem by giving me greater stability… I also thought this was a necessary mod because it would improve the overall the aesthetics of the car.

Well, my amateur knowledge proved me wrong, as the car would still lean around corners, and now there was a new problem with the wheel gap, it looked more silly than before… that dreaded “4x4” look. So after that I purchased the Eibach Pro-kit, which fixed the problems of the wheel gap and the body roll. Soon after installing the springs, I found Club B5 and my wallet began to take a real walloping. I then began to improve the overall appearance and performance of the car… adding badges, tinting, a chip, DV, wood trim interior, a painted engine bay, chrome handles… and the mod list is still growing.

My parents think I am crazy for spending most of my money on my car, but being able to modify it any way I like is something that truly makes me happy.

When I found Club B5 I was amazed with the amount of endless information regarding my car. If I had a problem or a question, all I had to do was perform a search or post my query, and I would find receive and answer. However, not only has Club B5 been a wealth of helpful information, but though club B5 I have met some of the nicest and most friendly people that I know of.

I would like to thank all the Club B5 members who have made the club what it is today, a friendly and informative community of car enthusiasts!
