I searched around but couldn't find my particular problem.
I dropped the oil pan recently and replaced it with a FelPro gasket. What a forking PITA! :banghead: The one big bolt in the rear middle just to the passenger side that sits at an angle was bi@tch to get in there so I left it out. Well after a test drive down the road, the STOP light came on after a spirited ride. I lost about 1/2 quart, spraying the whole underside. Well I put that bolt back in (in a manner you guys would disapprove) and it seemed to leak a lot less. Now it's just a few drips when sitting. I can't pin it down to an exact area, but it's the rear of the pan with all those horribly positioned bolts. None were loose and the rest of the pan to block surface is clean and dry.
Do you think the gasket got messed up there? Maybe a very trace amount of old gasket caused a bad seal? Was I supposed to use some RTV?
