2002 passat how to remove driver's side door panel?

    Hi all,

I just got my window regulator changed for my driver window from a mechanic and i now hear a rattle in there
I'm not sure what he did but can I take the panel apart and check for myself as I don't want to go back to him ... I am pretty handy but don't want to break anything.

Can someone point out where the screws are or the best way to go about it?

    Much appreciated

There are write-ups here and on TaligentX; even the Haynes manual has a good description. But briefly, from memory:

    1. Pry out the insert your fingertips rest on from inside the switch/door handle.
    2. Lift out and remove the handle.
    3. Remove the (three?) screws from the lower edge of the panel.
    4. The panel has several snap-in retainers around the perimeter. Using a butter knife, pop them loose.
    5. The panel hooks into the door at the top. Pull the lower part of the panel outward slightly, then slide up a bit to release.
    6. There are several wires and the door latch release cable attached to the back of the panel. Be careful, both to avoid damaging them, and to make sure you note where they go. The latch cable in particular is tricky to re-connect.

    Sound good thanks !

It seems that my tint got scratched again near rear of window because of something that got replaced in door or wasn't done correctly with the work with window regulator.

    I'm pissed
