    Setting clock/dash controls?

    Hey Guys,
I bought a secondhand 1999 Passat Variant about a week ago,

Although it did not come with the owners manual (Any idea where to get one?)

Because I am used to an ancient 1996ish Land Rover I am used to everything being pretty much set with the end of a pen...anyway to the point.

Does anyone know how to set the clock/all the mileage features on the dash etc. Is it using the controls on the indicator sticks etc/where cruise control settings are.

for the clock, turn and hold the knob. One direction does the minutes, the other direction does the hours.

I think my mileage reset is different on my GLX, but iirc from my jetta, it's a similar thing; either push and hold or turn and hold.

This is how things work on my 1999 GLS...

On the gauge cluster there are two little knobs. The knob on the right will reset the trip odometer if you press it. The knob on the left is the one you use to set the clock. Turn it gently to the left and hours will advance. Turn it gently to the right and minutes will advance.

On the end of the wiper stalk (right side of steering wheel) is an up/down toggle that will allow you to page through the various multifunction displays. On the bottom of that stalk is a button that will toggle you between #1 and #2 memory. #1 is your current trip data and #2 is data for all trips since last reset. If you hold that button in for several seconds, it resets the memory.

The pages of multifunction display are (not in order)...
    outside temperature
    trip time duration
    trip average speed
    current MPG
    trip average MPG

I think thats about it. I may have forgotten some.
