    Plasti dip...

i thought it was an original idea last year, then I came to understand that some MKblah drivers had already done it to their grills and badges, votex ground effects... etc. To actually pleasing effects in some cases.

The point being, yes, I did some plasti dipping a year or so ago on my grill, its held up splendidly, no chipping, no fading....SO... I had a plan if it held up.

I removed my plastic door edges (whatever you wanna call the rubber faded crap at the bottom of my doors) and had the plan to remove the paint (which was color matched and cracking after a few years) and plastidip them all. then I got hit by a crazy stick...

I ALSO have some kamei winglets that have seen better days and a cheapo set of side skirts that arent getting painted anytime soon, I'm going to plastidip these black, throw em on, see how long they last. If they look good, I might even post pics, if they look horrible, I will definitely post pics.

Now don't worry about me ruining anything, plastidip comes off a lot easier than paint.

At this point I mean the car isn't getting prettier at 8+ years old, so aesthetics on a day to day basis will be judge by all of you I guess. Ideas? Experiences? (beyond that of my own experience) Want to point and laugh? (quite a few did when I bought my altezzas)

How did your Plasti Dip modifications turn out? (I just ordered a can of black and a can of red). Did the coating hold up over time/weather? Do you have any pictures?

I was under the impression that it had something like that. I could be totally wrong, though...

you can find it in most hardware stores. its with the spray paint and the can is blue with yellow writing on it. ive used it on a front runstrip, mirror covers, grilles, etc. it holds up well to rock chips and it doesnt fade. i found if you do one heavy first coat it makes a good base coat. then if you spray from further away, say a foot or so, it will make it look like a textured surface. i liked it and i will probably use it again one i get another car.

Holy Poop! I just realized I'm paying $9.20 for S&H

^^I've always refused to buy paint online for that very reason... Shipping & Handling is almost as expensive as the paint itself.

Just try it out, he mentioned it peeled off easily. So it is reversible.
